The Royal Way Choir is a non-profit, Christian organization founded in 1974. The choir presents the best in sacred and inspirational music in concert halls and theatres across the nation. They premiered at Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh where they gave performances semi-annually. They have also appeared at Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh.
On June 24, 2011, the 50-voice choir and 15-piece chamber orchestra presented two major works in concert at Carnegie Music Hall: Come, Touch the Robe by Pepper Choplin and Flag, Cross and Crown by V. Lee Harrity. A special feature of this concert was the addition of former music students at Gateway High School, Monroeville, Pennsylvania. These singers have distinguished themselves by winning awards at Carnegie Awards competitions, singing with the Pittsburgh Symphony and earning a Bronze Medal at the Guildford, England, competition.
The Royal Way Choir has toured numerous times to venues including Toronto, Chicago and throughout the Midwest. They have made television appearances in the U.S. and Canada. Past concerts have featured presentations of If My People by Jimmy Owens, Day of Judgment by Janet Hutchinson, I Am by V. Lee Harrity and We are Called by Steven Fry.
